& organisations

We're really excited for the content of this weekend conference, and for the line up of speakers and organisations we've invited to inspire students. The whole weekend is being shaped around our scripture theme ‘But if we live our lives in the light, as he is in the light, we are in union with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.’ (1 John 1:7)

Through this, we want to crack open conversation about virtuous friendship, our vocation as students, integrity, virtue and more. It's gonna be a packed weekend!

fr stephen wang

Fr Stephen Wang is the Senior Catholic Chaplain to the Universities in the Diocese of Westminster and the chaplain to Newman House, London. He'll be giving us a keynote on Saturday morning and will also be sharing his Sycamore programme with us, a course for Catholic students.

Fr Stephen is a dynamic preacher and such a great chaplain to the students of London so we're really happy to have him coming to CSC18.

Kathleen Swift

Our team member and student of Cardiff Catholic Society, Kathleen Swift will be speaking to us about integrity on the Saturday night of the conference, something she has a real heart for.

'Uni can often be a tough time for students who want to genuinely live the Gospel faithfully. But it can also be such a great opportunity to grow and to take ownership of your faith and make those decisions to stand by your faith even when it's difficult or counter-cultural. That's why I truly believe that Christian students who live in Integrity can not only grow in virtue but can be such powerful witnesses for the kingdom.'

Eleanor Hill

Eleanor Hill is a recent graduate of Leeds uni where she was a big part of the Catholic student community and is now a lay chaplain to Sheffield University. El has been walking with the CSN project from the beginning and we know that she has a huge heart for ministering to students.

She'll be speaking to us on the Sunday morning of the Conference, on virtue and spiritual maintenance. As a recent graduate, El speaks in a real way that we love, and so we can't wait to hear from her!

student alpha

Alpha has been opening up the space between Church and non-Christians for a long time and, more recently, they've been trying to help students with this too.

We're really excited that they're coming to CSC18, and for students to experience this really practical tool that encourages a culture of invitation. If you've got friends who are curious about the faith, maybe this is something you could take back to campus with you!

We're so excited to have Fusion coming to speak to us about different ways to be missionary. Fusion has been equipping students, serving Churches and helping develop student leaders for years, and so we're really excited to hear from their years of experience in campus ministry.

...may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him.’ Hebrews 13:21

Sycamore is a tool for ‘primary evangelisation’, developed for the Catholic context, to help those who have little or no Christian background to explore the meaning of Christianity. “I think the most compelling thing about Sycamore is the open discussions which we have every week. As a non-Christian coming into Sycamore, I always felt welcome."
